5 ways to make your website perform

Have you invested heavily in your website and now, a few years down the track, you’re wondering where all the leads have gone? You are not alone. Some web design companies think that making something look pretty is the answer to selling more. But they are wrong. There is so much more to it than that. Here are our top 5 tips for making your website perform better for your business performance.

1. Add regular fresh content to your website

Neither Google nor your target audience wants to look at a website that hasn’t been updated in the last six months. We have experienced copywriters so we can refresh content, add blogs and news updates, so your content stays fresh and alive! It’s a great way to directly engage with your customers’ interests and questions, so you’ll get noticed, you will be compared with others in your industry, this is a good thing, it means you are a great competitor. Our job – is to make it easy to contact you.  With our help, you’ll be more up to date online than your competitors, therefore your website may ‘seal the deal,’ so don’t underestimate the power of a great helpful website.

2. Test and measure

How many visitors does your website get every month? How many leads does it generate? Having some ideas of the numbers will help you see where and how your website presence can be improved. At Pinnacle&Co, we work with businesses to ensure you are tracking against your goals and making progress in the right direction. We can give you a report each month, but more importantly we can understand the reports and know what needs doing to improve your online experience for your clients. At Pinnacle&Co. we love testing and measuring – it’s what keeps us up to date with what needs doing for you too. We have an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) for our websites. We’ll set you up with some training and send you on your way. If you are nervous, don’t forget that we have a full team here who can do it for you instead, or simply hold your hand if you prefer.

3. Improve your search visibility

This is where our expertise really shines. We want as many relevant people as possible to find your website. This is called SEO (Search Engine Optimisation. There are many tricks and essentials that we need to do SEO. It’s not something that you can do yourself. We use the latest programmes and skills to get you ranked well in Google. Let us guide you through what we can do! We are also experts in Google Advertising – if you need to be found online with a specific service of product and you’d like to know more about this – we can talk. Google Advertising is where the adverts follow you round the internet. You as a human might not like the internet knowing what you like, want – but that is what Google Advertising is for. You know how you are talking about a certain product and it the next thing you know there is an advert on you phone following you around. That’s the way to get right in front of your audience.

4.  Make your website mobile-friendly

More than half of all website traffic is from mobiles, so you’ll want to make sure your website is mobile-friendly. It will also help with your Google rankings. All our websites are phone and programmed to be friendly on all devices. What’s important is the navigation too. It’s not just being mobile-friendly, it is how your website behaves online. We are proud of our experience and success. If you ever felt something was needed, we are always welcome to hear if you want something added. Whilst we are the experts, you know your clients the best. Let’s work as a team.

5. Help, don’t sell

Yes, a website can be as simple as an online brochure, but to get real traction, you’ll want it to have content that helps people. It may seem counter-intuitive, but the more you show that you can help in a non-salesy way, the more your customers will like it – and hence buy from you. You need to be the answer to your clients problems or needs, be as helpful as you can. Make it easy for them to work with you.

And like all beautiful creations – your website will need to be refreshed. It will never be ‘finished’. That’s a good thing, as you want it to be performing for you, then it is a bit like a car engine – it needs regular servicing, repairs and updates to keep you on the road and performing well. Or, as Phillippa says, “A good website is like a good silent business partner. It’s working away in the background. It might not always be in your face, but it’s still having influence and making a difference.” Everyone wants to win, let’s help you win!
